Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week inpatient rehab assignment in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring hospital experience and current BLS certification.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit located on floor 3S of an acute care hospital
- 15-bed unit with a staff of 20, including PT/PTA, OT/COTA, and rehab tech team members
- Patient ratio of 5 patients per SLP
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with at least 2 weekend days required per month
- Common procedures include evaluations, treatments, and modified barium swallows (MBS)
- May float to acute care areas within the hospital
- EMR: Meditech
- Standard therapy and basic lift equipment used on the unit
Requirements
- Active SLP license required where applicable
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 6 months of SLP experience within the last 6 months required
- Hospital experience required
- Must have no gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Inpatient rehab experience is preferred and will be prioritized during candidate review
- Experience with CARE scoring is a plus
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Team-oriented, energetic personality is the ideal fit for this unit
