Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a GI/Endoscopy unit position in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring endoscopy and moderate sedation experience with on-call responsibilities.
Details
- Located on the 2nd floor of a hospital endoscopy unit in Corpus Christi, TX
- Small unit with 2–3 beds staffed by 1–2 RNs and 1–2 techs per shift
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Typical procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, and EBUS
- Olympus endoscopy equipment used
- Meditech EMR (experience preferred)
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
- On-call coverage required, including overnight call 2 weeks and 2 full weekends per month (variable)
- Floating to a nearby campus may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
- Minimum 1 year of recent endoscopy RN experience required
- Moderate sedation experience required
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- High-level disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Hospital-provided and laundered scrubs
- Ideal candidate is fast-paced, adaptable, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with physicians and anesthesia teams
- Small, collaborative team environment with day shift consisting of 2 RNs and 1–2 techs
