Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Joint Commission-accredited community hospital and regional referral center in Lake Havasu City, AZ, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and active telemetry skills.
Details
- 40-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a 171-bed community hospital and Level 3 Trauma center certified as a Chest Pain Center
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GI bleed presentations
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, and Zoll defibrillators
- EMR: Medhost
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts per week on a mixed shift basis
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule period
- Floating to other units (IMC, ED) is expected
- No scheduled on-call; however, shifts may be flexed to on-call up to twice during the contract as needed
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Recent acute care experience required
- Demonstrated telemetry experience required
- Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- ADN or higher required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

- Located in Lake Havasu City, AZ — a scenic outdoor recreation destination with mountain ranges and lake views, within driving distance of Las Vegas, Phoenix, the Grand Canyon, and Southern California
- Preceptor and charge nurse experience is a plus
- Compassionate, positive, and can-do attitude preferred
- Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toe shoes are not permitted
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Block schedule requests are not accepted
