Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Joint Commission-accredited community hospital in Lake Havasu City, AZ, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and telemetry skills.
Details
- 40-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a 171-bed community hospital and regional referral center
- Certified Chest Pain Center and Level 3 Trauma facility
- Adult and geriatric patient population including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing, and Zoll defibrillators
- EMR: Medhost
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts per week on a mixed shift basis
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule period
- Floating to other units (IMC, ED) is expected
- No scheduled on-call shifts, though scheduled shifts may occasionally be flexed to on-call as needed
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Recent acute care experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
- ADN or higher required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Located in Lake Havasu City, AZ — a scenic outdoor recreation destination near Las Vegas (2.5 hrs), Phoenix (3.25 hrs), and the Grand Canyon (3.5 hrs)
- Scrub color required: black top and bottom; open-toed shoes are not permitted
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Charge and preceptor experience is a plus
- Weekly orientation is provided
