Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring Epic experience and AHA certifications.

Details

  • Work setting is an acute care hospital (286 staffed beds) in an Emergency Room (ER) department
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratios are based on acuity
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope to meet facility and department needs is required
  • No on-call requirement
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • No-cost parking available

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license — SC license in hand is preferred; candidates with a pending SC license may still be considered
  • Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have emergency room experience
  • Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
  • Scrub color required: Royal Blue
  • Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
  • During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams — peak activity months are August and September
