Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a major cancer hospital and research center in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Position is in a Medical ICU (MICU) at a large cancer hospital and research center
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with complex oncologic, pulmonary, and systemic conditions — including oncologic emergencies, COPD, ARDS, GI bleed, sepsis, pulmonary hypertension, and autoimmune disorders
• Common treatments include mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, central venous catheters, chemotherapy administration, and plasmapheresis
• Many patients have underlying pulmonary and GI conditions requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy support
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Rotating 12-hour day/night contracts may result in scheduling across days, nights, or a combination based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active Ohio or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of MICU experience required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators required
• IV insertion skills required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and built into the contract, with a maximum of 7 days
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
