Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week inpatient rehab and acute care assignment at a Level III trauma facility, including coverage at a behavioral health unit.
Details
- Inpatient rehab and acute inpatient care setting at a Level III trauma facility
- Potential coverage in the ICU depending on experience and unit need
- Float coverage between the main hospital and a Canyon View Behavioral Health unit
- Patient caseload of approximately 10–12 patients per day
- Common diagnoses include orthopedic (total joints), neurological (strokes), occasional brain injuries, medical, and general ICU cases
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 0730–1800; no self-scheduling
- Rotating weekend requirements unless weekends are assigned as the regular shift
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Active OT license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of OT experience; at least 1 year must be in acute inpatient or rehab settings
- Current BLS certification required
- Active state licensure — pending licensure will not be accepted
- Epic EMR experience required
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Rehab aides are available to support the OT team; no COTAs on staff
- An OT manager is present on each shift
- Orientation typically consists of 2–3 days of department-specific onboarding; travelers should expect to work Monday–Friday on 8-hour shifts during the onboarding period
- Scrubs are permitted but must not match the designated colors of other departments; approved color list provided upon hire
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
- Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
