Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg PCU night shift position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring at least 5 years of experience and the ability to perform charge nurse duties.

Details

• Critical access hospital setting with 25 beds
• PCU, Med/Surg, and telemetry patient population
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating to other units (ED, MCH) required based on need
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VT RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• Critical access hospital, PCU, or telemetry experience required
• Must be able to work independently and perform charge nurse duties

Additional Information

• Attendance at department quarterly education sessions is required
• Personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation in the area is limited
• The hospital is located in Newport, VT, a small town on the Canadian border in the Northeast Kingdom, known for outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling
• COVID-19 vaccine is not required for this position
