Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with current NICU/PICU experience for a night shift travel position at a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center with a Level 3 NICU in Miami, FL.
Details
- NICU/PICU respiratory therapy unit within a 447-bed tertiary care and teaching facility that is a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center, Level 3 NICU, and Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week travel assignment
- Equipment used includes high flow devices, 3100A, Bunnell, Servo ventilators, continuous nebulizers, Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and standard nebulizers
- Meditech is the documentation system; prior Meditech experience is preferred
- May float to regular adult floors to provide nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, CPT, and similar coverage
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
- Current NICU/PICU experience required
- Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
- Active certifications required: BLS, NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics, Advanced 9th Edition), and PALS — AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- ACLS required per HCA facility policy for Respiratory Therapists
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- Two professional references required (due to Florida state requirement)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Respiratory Therapists provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory diseases utilizing advanced technologies and medication delivery
- Department structure includes a Director, Manager, and one Supervisor/Charge Therapist per shift alongside regular staff
- Ideal candidates are team players who are critical thinkers, patient-care focused, adaptable, and collaborative in a multidisciplinary environment
- Required scrub color: light gray (silver)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered
