Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Post Surgical Unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

- Position is located in a hospital Post Surgical Unit
- Provides nursing care to a variety of post-surgical patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required (AHA-issued certifications only)
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills required
- Full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned group of patients, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, and initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and coordinates referrals to appropriate personnel
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may reapply after a 6-month separation period following a maximum of 26 weeks (one extension) of prior placement
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) are strict and non-negotiable — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
