Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Richmond, KY, requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS certifications for night shift work in a 19-bed ED serving all ages and acuity levels.
Details
- Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting in Richmond, KY
- 19-bed, 4-chair ED with a separate clinical decision area (2 bays, 1 bed) for lower acuity patients
- Cares for patients across the full age spectrum, from birth through end of life, ranging from non-emergent to critical acuity
- Dedicated rooms equipped for life-threatening conditions with specialized equipment and supplies, plus a fast-track area for non-emergent patients
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- Weekend requirements
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing (KY or Compact RN license) required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
- TNCC preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required; BSN preferred
- Previous nursing experience preferred
- Must provide date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, implementation of interventions, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
- ACLS and PALS (or ENPC) must be obtained within 6 months of hire; NIHSS must be obtained within 3 months of hire
- Delegates nursing care tasks and oversees team members in the execution of the plan of care
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
