Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment in Socorro, NM, requiring a minimum of two years in a large OR setting and prior completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Operating Room (OR) unit within a hospital setting
• Surgical patient population with a variety of procedure types
• Scrubbing is required for this role
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM), varied days
• 40 hours per week
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR is used; on-site training is available for candidates without prior Epic experience
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular surgical experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• ADN or ASN degree required
• BLS required; must be obtained through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• ACLS and PALS preferred; if held, must also be through AHA, AHAS, or ARC
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a large OR required
• Must be able to scrub
• At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized patient care throughout the surgical episode
• Collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• May provide clinical supervision to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Former permanent employees of the health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
