Description
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a skilled home care position serving a diverse adult patient population in the St. Pete/Largo, FL area.
Details
- Home health setting serving Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
- Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule (8:00–17:00)
- Diverse patient population including med/surg, cardiac, ortho, post-surgical, COPD, CHF, CVA, Parkinson's, neuro, trauma, amputees (AKA/BKA), and more
- Caseload of 6–8 home visits per day (minimum 6 points per day, may increase at manager's discretion)
- Self-scheduled visits and hours based on the needs of the home care office
- Charting and documentation via BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet
- Laptop, MiFi, and portable printer provided for field use
- Local candidates accepted
Requirements
- Current OT license — license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required; 2 years preferred
- Home health experience required
- Must be an independent practitioner
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits
- OASIS training preferred
- COVID vaccination or exemption form required
- Flu shot or signed declination required; mask required at all times while working regardless of vaccination status
- Proficiency in adult OT skills including ADLs, cardiac rehab, edema massage, feeding techniques, splinting, TENS, ultrasound, ortho, prosthetics/orthotics, standardized assessments, joint mobilization, home exercise programs, lifting and transfer, and patient/family education
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Conduct skilled home visits focused on functional rehabilitation, safety, injury prevention, and patient/family education
- Responsibilities include evaluation, documentation, billing, and telephone communication with patients and care team
