Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital setting in Georgia, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and active GA state licensure, NBCOT, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Acute care hospital OT unit
• Preferred shift is 4x10, 7:30–18:00; alternate schedule available as 5x8s with split days (Mon/Wed: 9:45–18:15, Tues/Thurs/Fri: 7:30–16:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float within scope of practice to an affiliated outpatient facility as needed
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neurological, and progressive disease cases such as Parkinson's disease, arthritis, amputee, and other progressive neurological disorders

Requirements

• Active GA state OT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• NBCOT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• Proficiency with dynamic splints, functional splints, and static splints required
• Experience with upper and lower extremity treatment required
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Travelers are expected to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period — if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two and may request one holiday off
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all affiliated network facilities for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• No alternate shift or special scheduling requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
