Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week day shift contract at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Hospital-based respiratory care department serving all appropriate age levels across multiple areas of the facility
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program required
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2+ years in a critical care setting preferred
- RRT credential required (must be received within 12 months of hire)
- Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
- Respond as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
- Document treatment information and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Serve as a resource to medical staff and ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and properly maintained
- Previous travelers or employees at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are permitted only once for a total of 26 weeks
- This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding requirements immediately upon acceptance
