Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med Specialty Step Down unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of RN experience and AHA-issued BLS certification.

• Med Specialty Step Down unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) — AHA-issued certifications only
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to a diverse patient population with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to interventions, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and coordinates referrals as needed
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period following a maximum 26-week total assignment (including one extension)
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must be completed promptly — the facility does not negotiate start dates and will not accommodate non-compliant travelers
