Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.

Details

• ICU position within a 562-bed Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Primary trauma/burn ICU setting with medical and cardiac overflow patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call responsibilities are required
• Floating is required — travelers are first to float, with potential float destinations including Medical, Neuro, and Cardiac ICUs, as well as IMC and general floors on modified teams
• May also float to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Average daily census of 10 patients
• Charting via Cerner
• Parking permit required at no cost

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC, and TNS
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• All required licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 5 days; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
