Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position at a Magnet teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing history.

Details

  • Inpatient NICU setting at a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Floating within the hospital is required; no floating to sister facilities
  • Charting via Epic (preferred, not required)
  • Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on the posted schedule
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Daily parking fee of $10.26

Requirements

  • Active WA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and IBCLC
  • Minimum of 2 years of NICU/newborn care experience required
  • At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital employment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Proficiency with newborn assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, phototherapy, and medication administration
  • Proficiency with magnesium, insulin, PCA/PCEA, and heparin infusions required
  • COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
  • Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
  • 2 references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • 13-week contract with the possibility of extension for qualified candidates
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week over the contract; no RTO may be requested during orientation week
  • Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Scrubs may be any color; scrubs are provided for OR personnel only
  • Block scheduling is not available unless otherwise stated in the posting
