Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position at a hospital in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active MI RN license.
Details
- Work in a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes general medical, gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological, orthopedic/neurovascular, and cardio/pulmonary cases
- Specialties include GI surgeries, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30), with 36 or 48-hour weeks available
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6; ratios may flex to 1:8, with LPN support provided
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically once per week based on unit needs
- Works alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required (pending license acceptable with ETA provided)
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required (pending acceptable with confirmation of intent to obtain)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
Additional Information
- Availability required for the full first two weeks of orientation
- Holiday coverage is required; any requested time off during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
- Block scheduling is not available at this time
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded; meet the experience requirements to be considered
