Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a day shift travel assignment at a medical center in Hilo, Hawaii.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting in Hilo, HI
• Respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
• Day shift hours: 0630–1900
• Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
• Equipment includes PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60, Para Pac Transport Vent, and Pyxis medication management system
• Computerized charting used for documentation
• 15-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Experience caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
• Current and active RRT credential
• Current certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
• NRP preferred
• Active State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapist license required by start of assignment; candidates with a Hawaii license application already submitted will be considered
• License required if applicable
• Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical or religious exemption required prior to contract start
• Prior completed travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include continuous airway management, ventilator and non-invasive ventilator management, physician consulting, CPR, and all aspects of respiratory care
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of their assignment at the facility's Employee Health department — plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before your start date to attend this appointment on Friday morning
• Flu vaccination may be administered during the Employee Health clearance appointment
• COVID-19 vaccination required
