Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a Level III Trauma teaching hospital, with experience across ED, inpatient, and outpatient MRI imaging including cardiac and pediatric cases.
Details
- Work in the MRI department of a 457-licensed-bed Level III Trauma teaching hospital with designations including Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence
- Full-service radiology department offering X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine with Radiology Nursing support
- Serves ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient populations
- Common diagnoses and patient types include neuro deficits, suspected stroke, seizures, prostate cancer, diabetic foot, pancreatic cysts, and IBS/Crohn's disease
- Large population of medical device patients
- Cardiac and pediatric MRI imaging provided, including pediatric cases with anesthesia
- Average of 30–40 patients per day
- Equipment includes a GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist 450W and a Siemens 3T Skyra
- EMR: Epic; RIS: Epic Radiant; PACS: Philips iSite
- 12-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation as needed
- No floating or on-call requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- ARRT(R) or NMTCB, and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
- BLS required
- Active license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience
- Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Verifies orders, identifies patients using two identifiers, and provides full procedural explanations prior to each exam
- Conducts complete patient medical history interviews and reviews EMRs for pertinent clinical information
- Prepares and administers IV contrast per departmental protocols and evaluates image quality in consultation with a Radiologist as needed
- Performs invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogen, isolation, and infection control policies
- Initiates basic patient care functions and life support measures when necessary
- Department support includes Guest Services/Transport for inpatient and ED patients, Child Life Services for pediatric patients, and a tech assistant on overnight shifts
- Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed
- 75% of holidays required
- Black scrubs required

- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
