Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active SC or Compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Works in the Endoscopy unit of a 75-bed acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (5x8 hours)
- Patient ratios are 1:1 in the procedure suite; Preop and Discharge ratios up to 4:1
- Every third weekend required
- On-call is required for this position
- Floating within scope to similar units or sister facilities is possible, though highly unlikely
- Charting is performed in Epic
- Navy blue scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available with a pass distributed at pickup
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy RN experience required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Must be able to remain within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to on-call as expected
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
