Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Orthopedics/Trauma Unit assignment in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring a minimum of one year of nursing experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.

- Work setting is a hospital-based Orthopedic/Trauma Unit
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Self-scheduling (SD) and MS required
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate Compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required — AHA-issued certifications only
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficient in organizing, planning, and coordinating nursing care across varying levels of patient acuity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Full date of birth and full SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for managing an assigned patient group, documenting responses to nursing interventions and physician orders, and administering medications and IV infusions
- Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as clinically appropriate
- Communicates care plans to patients and families, provides discharge education, and makes referrals as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; after 26 weeks, a 6-month separation period is required before reapplying
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
