Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Women's Center unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a Women's Center serving L&D, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby patients
- Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 1 triage bed, and 4 postpartum beds, with approximately 80–100 births per year
- Patient population includes gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia
- Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- RNs are required to titrate drips, including Oxytocin, Insulin, and Epidural
- GE Centricity is used as the Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) system; Epic is used for charting
- OB techs are available on the unit; OB/Neonatologist is not in house 24/7
- Telemetry is available on the unit; RNs read their own strips with monitor techs housed on the floor
- Respiratory equipment available includes CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
- Charge Nurse and House Supervisor coverage is available
- 12-hour shifts (7a–7p or 7p–7a); primarily nights with possible varied days/nights assignment
- 3 shifts per week with every other weekend required
- Call or standby required: 3–4 call shifts per 6-week schedule, with a 30-minute response requirement
- Holiday coverage required for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Basic Fetal Monitoring also listed as a required skill)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines required
- Experience with antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
- Epic EMR experience (used for charting on this unit)
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
- Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
- Any licensing discrepancies or hits must be disclosed upfront
Additional Information
- Ability to circulate and recover Cesarean sections is preferred
- OB unit-specific orientation is provided intradepartmentally
- Scrubs are provided by the facility — no need to bring your own
- 13-week assignment of three 12-hour shifts per week
