Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and PICU experience for a 13-week day shift travel assignment at a women's hospital in Houston, TX.
Details
- Cardiopulmonary unit within a women's hospital, covering PICU, NICU (Levels 2, 3, and 4), PEDI floors, and adult ICU
- Day shift hours, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Patient ratio of 7:1 on day shift
- Equipment used includes Crossvent, Airvo, Bunnell Jet, Drager VN500, Hamilton G5, Evolve Nitric Oxide, Pneuton, and Oscillator A
- Floating required to Adult ICU, general floors, Level 2/3/4 NICU, PICU, and Pedi units
- 4 weekend shifts required per four-week schedule
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with active experience within the last 6 months
- Level 3 NICU or pediatric critical care experience required; adult-only experience will not be considered
- NRP (Advanced, 9th Edition – American Academy of Pediatrics card) required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted); no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- Delivery room experience required
- Experience with neonatal and pediatric ventilators and respiratory equipment preferred
- Adult respiratory therapy experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
Additional Information
- Perform intubations and surfactant administration as part of routine clinical duties
- Provide respiratory therapy services to neonatal and pediatric critical care patients, including delivery room support
- Gray monogrammed scrubs required
- Must be clocked in and ready for report no later than 6:37 AM / 6:37 PM
