Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and PICU experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in Houston, TX.
Details
- Cardiopulmonary unit (4th floor) at a women's hospital in Houston, TX
- PICU and NICU patient population, including Level 3 NICU and pediatric critical care; adult-only experience is not sufficient
- Patient ratio of 7:1
- Equipment includes Crossvent, Airvo, Bunnell Jet, Drager VN500, Hamilton G5, Evolve Nitric Oxide, Pneuton, and Oscillator
- Common procedures include intubations, surfactant administration, and delivery room support
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
- Floating to Adult ICU, general floors, Level 2 NICU, Level 3 NICU, Level 4 NICU, PICU, and Peds units
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty, with active experience within the past 6 months
- Level 3 NICU or pediatric critical care experience required
- Delivery room experience required
- Required certifications: NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, from American Academy of Pediatrics), ACLS, PALS, and BLS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- PALS preferred if not already listed as required
- Adult experience is a plus but not required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients, including bedside procedures in the NICU and PICU
- Fast-paced environment requiring candidates who are quick learners and adaptable
- Gray monogrammed scrubs required
- Candidates must be clocked in and ready for report no later than 6:37 AM / 6:37 PM
