Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in San Marcos, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active ACLS certification.

Details

• Cardiology Cath Lab unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• On-call required for STEMI response: 16–20 days of call per 6-week period
• Weekend on-call required: 3 out of every 6 weekends
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license with TX privileges required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty or critical care setting
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Active, unexpired copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
• New hires attend a mandatory New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Initial onboarding includes preceptorship with a trained staff member and completion of organizational and department-specific competency validations
• New graduates will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
