Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position in Roswell, NM, requiring a valid NM or compact RN license and a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit in an acute care hospital setting (36-bed unit)
• Patient population includes general med/surg, post-op orthopedic, and general surgery cases
• Patient ratio is 1:6, occasionally 1:7
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed (rare); may float to ICU to cover step-down or med/surg overflow patients
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Cerner; Mindray Telemetry System used on unit
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. driver's license required for consideration
• U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; the process may take several weeks
• Royal blue scrubs required
• RTO requests of less than 1 week may be accommodated
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
