Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license, working night shifts on a 3x12 schedule.
Details
- Hospital Medical/Surgical unit setting
- Patient diagnoses include general medical/surgical cases, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery (no PCI)
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Current certifications must be provided for consideration
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred — some units require two on file
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least 1 full year before returning as a travel nurse
- RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
- Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as 1)
- No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the listed shift is firm
- Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
- Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to begin on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
