Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license, working night shifts on a 3x12 schedule.

Details

Hospital Medical/Surgical unit setting
Patient diagnoses include general medical/surgical cases, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery (no PCI)
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
Current certifications must be provided for consideration
Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred — some units require two on file

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least 1 full year before returning as a travel nurse
RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them
Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as 1)
No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the listed shift is firm
Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to begin on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
