Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at a large Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring interventional scrub experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Works in the Cath Lab of a large short-term acute care, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
• Patient population includes AMI, chest pain, heart failure, NSTEMI, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, endocarditis, AFib, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome
• Functions as RN Circulator in a diagnostic and interventional PCI environment, providing conscious sedation under attending direction
• May cross-train to run hemodynamics in the monitor tech role
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Rotating 4x10 shifts: 0700–1730 (standard), 0700–1730 (late), and 1000–2030 (close) as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating on-call required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, subject to change based on unit needs
• Floating within the service line required to meet facility needs
• Documents in Epic; experience with Epic charting is required
• Equipment includes Impella and IABP
• Navy scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO state RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Interventional scrub experience required
• Experience in a high-volume, high-acuity Cath Lab required
• Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering conscious sedation, handing off sterile supplies, assessing vitals, and documenting in Epic
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Monthly parking passes are available on-site at varying rates; travelers should contact Public Safety directly for availability and options
