Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Diagnostic Lab (CDL) ICU position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 3 years of cardiac or ICU nursing experience and active ACLS and BLS certifications.

Details

• Cardiac Diagnostic Lab (CDL) setting within a large, short-term acute care hospital (1,273 staffed beds) — a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching facility
• Performs a variety of cardiac testing procedures, including administering echocardiogram image enhancement contrast for cardiac sonographers
• Fast-paced inpatient and outpatient environment
• Schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week (M–F, 7:00–17:30) with one rotating day off
• Occasional Saturday rotation approximately once every 5–6 weeks (7:30–16:00), with an additional day off that same week
• The CDL is closed on Sundays and major holidays
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted for IL-based candidates
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in cardiac step-down, ICU, or a cardiac procedural area
• Strong assessment and IV skills required
• Previous cardiac stress testing experience preferred
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing cardiac diagnostic testing and administering contrast agents in support of cardiac sonographers
• Must be available for a fair rotation of pre- and post-holiday coverage dates
• Unscheduled call-ins may be required to be made up within the same week at the manager's discretion
• Navy scrubs required
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may remain at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler
• Daily parking fees apply for day shift workers; no charge for night shift parking
