Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU (MICU) position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of ICU experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

- Medical ICU (MICU) setting within a large, 1,266-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Magnet-designated and academic teaching hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within the ICU service line, including float to MS areas within the ICU service line
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting performed in Epic
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 1.5 years of ICU experience required; MICU experience preferred
- Candidates with fewer than 2 years of experience must have Level I Trauma Center experience
- Experience in a 20+ bed ICU required
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with vasopressor support, ETT, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and wound care required
- Sterile technique experience required, including line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, chest tube insertion, bronchoscopy, and phlebotomy
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Experience with CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, proning, and MTP/Level 1 Rapid Transfuser is preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travel RNs may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Parking passes are available for purchase through the facility; costs and availability vary by lot and shift; night shift workers may be eligible for complimentary parking
