Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology unit at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring at least 1 year of medical oncology experience and active OR licensure.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching facility
- Medical Surgical Oncology unit treating patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, Sickle Cell disease, and symptom management cases
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Specialized procedures include Chemo/Biotherapy, Stem Cell Infusions, CAR-T therapy, Bone Marrow Biopsies, Lumbar Punctures, Blood Product Transfusions, and Central Line Care
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to Acute Care/IMC units, including a nearby affiliate hospital; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
- Charting via Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
Requirements
- Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted and received by the licensing board to qualify for the 90-day license exemption
- Current BLS certification required
- Chemotherapy certification required (ONS certification not mandatory)
- Minimum 1 year of medical oncology experience required
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references are not acceptable)
- COVID vaccination required; no exemptions accepted
- Chemo competency preferred but not required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who were previously employed at or on assignment with this health system must have been gone for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler; a reference from the supervising OHSU manager is also required in such cases
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for a 13-week contract or 7 days for an 18-week contract; any approved time beyond 5 days requires extending the contract to fulfill a full 13-week assignment
- All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application consideration
- Solid-color scrubs required; printed scrubs are not permitted (scrubs provided)
- Daily parking pass available for $16 (applicable 8am–5pm only); public transportation is strongly encouraged
