Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III/IV NICU travel assignment in Washington State, requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Level III or IV NICU in a large hospital setting with 77 beds and an average census of 50
• Cares for premature infants as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
• Patient population includes high-risk neonates requiring advanced respiratory and critical care support
• Equipment used includes CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Ventilators, Oscillators, conventional ventilators, syringe pumps, feeding tubes, and cooling/warming blankets
• Procedures include blood and blood product administration, PICC/central line care, and cardioversion/defibrillation; no ECMO
• Attends high-risk deliveries and supports neonatal surgeries
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
• Block scheduling is available for those who prefer working 3 or more shifts in a row
• Floating between campuses within Washington State is expected; rare float to Pediatrics or Special Care Nursery (SCN), with infant-only assignments if floated to Peds
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or valid compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Experience with advanced neonatal respiratory support equipment (CPAP/BiPAP, oscillators, high frequency vents) required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Travelers are generally not assigned admissions, as the unit utilizes a dedicated Admit Nurse for that role
• Must be open to floating between facilities within Washington State; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible
• Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
