Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III/IV NICU travel assignment in Washington State, requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Level III or IV NICU in a large hospital setting with 77 beds and an average census of 50
- Cares for premature infants as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
- Patient population includes high-risk neonates requiring advanced respiratory and critical care support
- Equipment used includes CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Ventilators, Oscillators, conventional ventilators, syringe pumps, feeding tubes, and cooling/warming blankets
- Procedures include blood and blood product administration, PICC/central line care, and cardioversion/defibrillation; no ECMO
- Attends high-risk deliveries and supports neonatal surgeries
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
- Block scheduling is available for those who prefer working 3 or more shifts in a row
- Floating between campuses within Washington State is expected; rare float to Pediatrics or Special Care Nursery (SCN), with infant-only assignments if floated to Peds
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or valid compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
- Level III or IV NICU experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with advanced neonatal respiratory support equipment (CPAP/BiPAP, oscillators, high frequency vents) required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travelers are generally not assigned admissions, as the unit utilizes a dedicated Admit Nurse for that role
- Must be open to floating between facilities within Washington State; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
