Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a 12-hour night shift position at a free-standing emergency department in Pineville, NC.
Details
- Free-standing emergency department (FSED) setting, licensed under a regional health system, with no trauma designation
- 10-bed ED averaging 17–20 patient visits per day
- Adult and NICU patient population; no pediatric patients
- Common patient types include critical, PCU-level, NICU-type, and general ER patients — primary goal is to stabilize and transfer as needed
- On-site 24/7 X-ray, CT, and ultrasound services available
- EMR: Epic
- Equipment includes Servo ventilators (I, U, and Airs), Trilogy, ResMed AirCurve, HiFlow, Airvo, NOXbox, and bubble CPAP
- 12-hour night shifts, 1845–0710, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- Floating is required across Region 2 facilities, including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any regional freestanding EDs, and Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital) — candidates must be willing to float or should not apply
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Active NC Respiratory Therapy licensure required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Minimum 12 months of core experience in the unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience with critical care, NICU-type, PCU-type, and general ER patients
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
- 2-day departmental orientation provided
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- Supported by respiratory care leadership, staff, and nursing team
- Royal blue scrubs required
