Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Hudson, FL, requiring at least 1 year of MRI experience and the ability to work independently in the department.
Details
- Located in the MRI department of a 309-bed Level II Trauma Center in Hudson, FL
- GE Explorer Lift Signa 1.5T scanner in use; a software upgrade from GE 23X to GE 30X with AirDL is planned, enabling faster scans and new neuro and abdominal sequences
- EMR: Meditech
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Procedures include neuro exams (MRI/MRA of the head, neck, and spine), abdominal exams (MRCP, MRA/MRI of the aorta, liver, and kidneys), and MSK exams (extremities and arthrograms)
- Night shift: Tuesday–Friday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM (10-hour shifts)
- 1–2 on-call shifts per month
- Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of MRI technologist experience; allied candidates must have 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date
- Active ARRT certification required; license required if applicable
- Must be able to work independently in the MRI department with radiologist availability for questions
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- Two professional references required (Florida state requirement)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform a range of MRI exams including neuro, abdominal, and MSK studies, while maintaining a safe MRI environment for all patients and staff
- Must be able to adapt imaging protocols to meet individual patient or physician needs
- Willingness to learn from onsite and virtual training for new procedures is preferred
- Small team environment with 3 staff members; radiologist available for questions
- All exam protocols are built into the scanner for easy access and guidance
- Department is planning future growth, including the addition of a second scanner
- Scrub color for Radiology staff: black
- Parking is available anywhere on campus except the ER lot
