Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience to join an imaging department at a small acute care hospital in Maine, performing a full range of echocardiography procedures including TTE, TEE, and Stress Echo.
Details
- Work in an imaging department at a 64-bed acute care hospital (not trauma designated) in Ellsworth, ME
- Department includes 3 ultrasound rooms, 1 stress lab, and 1 dedicated echo room
- Adult patient population only; no pediatric echo
- Both inpatient and outpatient cases
- Procedures include TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, Bubble Study, and contrast administration
- Uses Philips ultrasound equipment; EMR is Cerner
- Variable 40-hour schedule with 8 or 10-hour shifts (TBD)
- Potential Saturday weekend rotation; no on-call required
- Holiday coverage expected for approximately 50% of holidays during the contract
- May be required to float to an affiliate hospital and perform mobile scanning within the facility
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
- Current BLS required
- RDCS (through ARDMS) or RCS (through CCI) certification required
- Compact or ME state license required if applicable
- Proficiency in TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, Bubble Study, and contrast administration
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME (489 State St.) to be eligible
- Must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
- 2 professional references within the past year required, at least one from a supervisor, manager, or director (charge nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
- Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Unit orientation is one week or less
- IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist support available 24/7
- All RTO requests must be approved by the manager
- Free parking is not available at this facility
- Travelers living 100+ miles north of Bangor, ME may be considered on a case-by-case basis with VP-level approval
