Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active or pending MI RN license.
Details
- Work in a 37-bed Medical-Surgical/Oncology unit (C5) within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes general medical diagnosis, GI, urological, gynecological, orthopedic/neurovascular, and cardio/pulmonary cases
- Specializes in post-surgical care including GI, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- 36 or 48-hour work weeks available
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically approximately once per week
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required; pending license accepted with ETA provided
- Current BLS certification (AHA); pending accepted with confirmed intent to obtain
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
Additional Information
- Must be available for the full first two weeks of orientation
- Works alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time
- Holiday coverage is required; RTO during holidays must remain flexible based on staffing needs
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
