Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a hospital-based radiology/ultrasound department in Smyrna, TN, requiring RDMS (ABD, OB/GYN) and RVT certifications with at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- Located in the main hospital building within the Ultrasound department
- Procedures include OB/GYN studies, vascular studies, abdominal studies, some pediatrics, and possible thoracentesis/paracentesis
- Uses three GE Logiq E9 XD Clear ultrasound machines with Trophon probe cleaning systems for high-level disinfection
- Documents using Meditech (EMR) and FUJI Synapse (PACS)
- Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8.5-hour day shifts)
- No call required
- No floating required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with active experience within the last 6 months
- RDMS with ABD and OB/GYN registries required; RVT required
- Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) required — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- License required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Self-starting, independent professionals with a strong patient/customer service focus are preferred
- The department operates with 24/7 coverage and is supported by a tenured, experienced team
- The unit has received recognition including a 2020 Clinical Site Excellence Award through affiliation with Volunteer State Community College's ultrasound program
- Department is growing to support expanding OB, ED, and surgical services and volumes
- Scrubs in Caribbean Blue are required
