Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a hospital in Tyler, TX, caring for cardiac and post-intervention patients on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Work on a 36-bed private room Med/Surg Tele unit (5 North) within a hospital setting
- Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients with a focus on cardiac care
- Priority admissions include post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant patients; hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients are also admitted
- Patient ratio is 1:5-6
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or Compact RN license valid in Texas, required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted for this position
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Candidates residing in the following TX counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- First-time travelers should check position details for eligibility
