Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU RN for a night shift travel position at a Critical Access, Magnet-designated hospital in Jacksonville, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in a 4-bed ICU at a 25-bed Critical Access, Magnet-designated hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:2 on all shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required of all travelers
• No on-call requirements
• Charting is done in Cerner (experience preferred)
• Cardiac monitoring skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with chronic and acute renal failure required
• IV therapy skills required: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV insertion
• Medication management skills required: continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Respiratory/thoracic skills required: BiPAP and CPAP management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, ventilated patient care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and ventilator management
• Additional clinical skills required: infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE use, and surgical wound/wound vac care

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
• Current AHA or Red Cross certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — RQI AHA cards are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• RTO of more than 5 days requires facility approval
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
• 13-week contract
