Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for an acute care hospital burn unit position requiring Epic proficiency and weekend availability.

Details

  • Work in an acute care hospital burn unit setting
  • Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (8:00–18:30)
  • Weekend work is required (Saturday and Sunday in the burn unit), with the remaining shifts selected from Monday through Friday
  • Treat burn patients with 0–100% TBSA burns, with needs ranging from mobility and positioning to pain management and surgical dressing considerations
  • Caseload of up to 8 patients per day, with census as low as 2 during cooler months
  • Floating within inpatient areas is required
  • Outpatient PT coverage for evals and therapy may be requested if time allows
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

  • Active OT license required (LA license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Ability to float within inpatient areas
  • Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration
  • Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
  • Work history gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained for consideration

Additional Information

  • Focus of care includes mobility, positioning, and therapeutic interventions to prevent contractures and scarring in burn patients
  • Outpatient therapy coverage may be requested as a secondary responsibility when census allows
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
  • Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
  • Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested for this position
