Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (NICU/PEDS) with a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and RRT certification for a 13-week variable shift position at a 260-280 bed hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 260-280 bed hospital in Rapid City, SD
- Patient population includes pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory care
- NICU experience is required, with the expectation of caring for NICU patients as needed
- Rotating or straight nights on 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Holiday coverage expected for holidays that fall within the contract period
- Float coverage throughout the hospital and ED; no floating to other facilities unless specifically hired for that purpose
- EMR: Epic (required); Omnicell also in use
- Equipment includes: Draeger V500 and Savina 300 ventilators, 3100A Oscillator, Hamilton C1/MRI, ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level, Airvo2 High Flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood Gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; CRT will not be considered
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
- NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active South Dakota RCP License required prior to consideration — licensing through SDBMOE.gov typically takes approximately 30 days
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (NRP required for NICU assignments)
- Two professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis with strong clinical experience, subject to manager review
- Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialist support available 24/7, along with supervisors, manager, and director
- RTO of up to 7 days may be approved; candidates must extend their contract if taking a full week off
- No RTO will be approved during the Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks of August)
