Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Long-Term Care/SNF position at a nursing home attached to a hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and availability for night shifts including every other weekend.

Details

• Work setting is a 70-bed nursing home (majority private rooms) attached to a hospital, classified as a post-acute/LTC/SNF care setting
• Patient population includes elderly residents with diagnoses such as dementia, frailty, and rehabilitation needs
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:20
• Common clinical tasks include IVs, catheterizations, ostomy care, medication administration, assessments, and charge nurse duties
• IV and titratable drip management is required
• EMR system is ECS (facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required
• No on-call or standby responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license (must be active by start date)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience working with elderly patients required
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the same specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge duties, medication administration, and clinical skills such as IVs, catheterizations, and ostomy care
• Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and respiratory therapy (RT on-site 24/7)
• On-site pharmacy and physician availability after hours
• Holiday coverage is required for at least half of the holidays during the assignment
• Orientation hours vary based on individual skills
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; attire must be clean and professional
• Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their start date, and hospital approval is required
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which may affect the travel pay rate
