Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring ICU experience and flexibility to float across multiple units.

Details

• 21-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Orientation held every Wednesday
• Floating required across stepdown, ICU, and med/surg units
• Patient population includes NSTEMIs, post-cardiac cath with intervention, vascular cases (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy), CIWA protocol patients receiving IV Ativan, peritoneal dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen (<80%), home ventilators (Trilogy), and wound care
• Non-titrating drips administered include Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene
• Hemodialysis performed in the Dialysis Department
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license valid in South Carolina required at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ICU experience required in addition to PCU/stepdown experience
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Responsibilities include administering nebulizer treatments, managing non-titrating cardiac drips, and supporting patients on stable BiPAP and home ventilators
• Must be comfortable floating to ICU and med/surg units as needed
