Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room Circulator position in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and multi-specialty surgical proficiency including DaVinci Robotics.

Details

• Work in a 99-bed hospital with 6 operating rooms
• OR Circulator role serving adult and pediatric surgical patients
• Approximately 250–300 procedures performed per month
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Specialties include general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, urology, trauma, and robotic surgery (DaVinci)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4x10-hour shifts
• On-call required: minimum one weekday per week with possible weekend call rotation
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
• Experience required in general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, urology, trauma, and robotic (DaVinci) surgery
• Adult and pediatric surgical experience required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating surgical cases, ensuring supplies are ready, maintaining case timeliness, communicating with patient families, updating physician preference cards, and supervising personnel delivering patient care
• Works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR techs, and other surgical team members in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and hospital policies
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
