Description
American Traveler is hiring a MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week travel assignment in a fast-paced radiology department.
Details
- Radiology department, MRI unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Experience with GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T scanners is expected
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend shift schedule — either Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
- ARRT (MRI) certification required
- Current BLS (AHA) required
- MA license required if applicable
- Proficiency with GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners
- Epic EMR experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Prepare and position patients for MRI of various body parts, including setup of coils and monitoring devices
- Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or contraindications prior to scanning
- Select and document appropriate pulse sequences; recommend protocol changes as needed to support diagnostic quality
- Evaluate scan results for quality and completeness; manipulate and display images for physician review
- Send images to PACS, verify exam completeness, and maintain a working knowledge of PACS capabilities
- Start IVs and administer contrast agents as required; monitor patients for contrast reactions and report promptly
- Maintain accurate procedure records and statistics as required by the Department of Public Health
- Participate in teaching and clinical evaluation of MRI students and technologists as needed
- COVID vaccine with booster and flu vaccine required (medical exemptions permitted)
- Candidates who have worked at any facility within the associated health system in the past 6 months are not eligible for this position
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
