Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week assignment in a fast-paced hospital MRI department.
Details
- Hospital-based Radiology MRI department
- Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to work independently
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend shift schedule: either Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Uses GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Images sent and managed through PACS system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience required
- ARRT certification required
- BLS (AHA) required
- MA state license required if applicable
- Experience with GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T scanners required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
Additional Information
- Prepare and position patients for MRI of various body parts, including setup of coils and monitoring devices
- Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other contraindicated objects
- Select and record appropriate pulse sequences; recommend protocol changes to optimize diagnostic value
- Evaluate scan results for quality and completeness; manipulate and display images for physician review
- Start IV lines for patients requiring contrast and monitor for contrast reactions, escalating to radiologist or code team as needed
- Maintain accurate records, department statistics, and billing entries in the hospital computer system
- Participate in the teaching and clinical evaluation of MRI students and technologists as needed
- Participate in continuing education activities both during and outside of normal working hours
- COVID vaccine with booster and flu vaccine required; medical exemptions are accepted
- Candidates who have worked at any facility within the same health system in the past 6 months (as a traveler, per diem, or permanent employee) are not eligible
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- Interview availability must be provided at the time of consideration
