Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week cardiac cath lab travel assignment requiring ARRT certification and KY licensure.
Details
- Work setting is an acute care hospital cath lab with 2 dedicated cath lab rooms and rotation in an EP lab
- Caseload averages 8–10 procedures per day, including 6–8 STEMI cases per month
- Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, device implants (pacemakers and ICDs — single, dual, Bi-V), peripheral diagnostics and interventions, and EP ablations
- Physician access includes both radial and groin approaches
- Devices and tools used include Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, and ACIST injector
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with one rotating day off each week
- On-call expectation is 8–10 days per month, rotating one night per week (5:30 PM–7:00 AM) and one weekend every 3 weeks (Friday 5:30 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts
- Rotating schedule of 36/48 hours per two weeks (alternating 3x12 and 4x12 weeks)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Active AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required
- ARRT certification required
- Active KY state license or compact license required; candidates willing to apply for KY licensure upon offer will be considered, but must apply the day they accept
- License required if applicable
- EP experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration — address must match permanent address
- 2 professional references required: 1 charge nurse or higher and 1 supervisor, both completed within the last year
- Candidates must reside 75+ miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include table panning, scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, and assisting with device implants and peripheral interventions
- Cross-training in EP (ablations) is available for candidates without prior EP experience, though EP experience is preferred
- Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Rad Tech
- Patient ratios may vary based on staffing and census
- Orientation is held bi-weekly
- Scrubs and lead apron are provided
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be submitted upfront and no changes will be accepted
- Travelers must work either a major or minor holiday
- Travelers who have worked in the system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- SSN and DOB are required for consideration
