Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center, requiring at least 1 year of IR experience with proficiency in Neuro and Body IR procedures using single and biplane radiography units.
Details
- Interventional Radiology department within a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center
- Inpatient and outpatient procedures serving adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients across all acuity levels
- Department includes 2 biplane rooms, 2 single plane rooms, a dedicated ultrasound room, and a CT procedure room staffed by CT techs
- Staffed by 5 Body IR physicians and 3 Neurointerventional physicians, with up to 9 IR techs when fully staffed
- Neuro and Body IR procedures including Y90, TIPs, chemo embolization, UFE, PAE, trauma, stroke, carotid stenting, drains, biopsies, LPs, kyphoplasty, lines, ports, filters, peripheral stents, AV fistula declot/stenting, and PE/DVT interventions
- Equipment includes Siemens fluoroscopy units and Philips ultrasound
- McKesson PACS and Cerner PowerChart EMR (Cerner experience preferred but not required)
- 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Call requirement of 1–2 days per week and 1 weekend per month; 2 techs on call per shift (primary and secondary)
- Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Proficiency with single and biplane radiography units required
- Active MO or Compact license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
- Current BLS required
- ARRT certification required
- 2 professional references required
- Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and during inclement weather
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced pay rate
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Perform a broad range of Neuro and Body IR procedures in a high-acuity, high-volume setting
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration or they will not be approved
- Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for travel rates; candidates between 50–75 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
- Role involves regular exposure to patients with contagious illnesses in a 24/7 healthcare environment
